Welcome to Solace, developed by SolAppLab ("we", "our", or "us"). Solace is a mood journaling and AI-powered conversation app designed to help you reflect on your day and track how you feel over time. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

📋 Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide the app's features:

• Email address: Used for account creation and authentication via Google Firebase.
• Conversation and journal content: Text you enter in the app. This is stored locally on your device and is also sent to a third-party AI API to generate a reply. It is not stored on our servers.
• Anonymous device identifier: Used only to manage your daily free message allowance. This ID cannot be used to identify you personally.
• Notification preferences: Stored locally on your device to manage your reminder settings.

💾 How Your Data Is Stored

Your journal entries, conversation history, and mood records are stored locally on your device. We do not store this content on our own servers.

Your account information (email address) is managed by Google Firebase Authentication, which is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

🤖 Third-Party AI Service

The chat feature in Solace is powered by a third-party AI API. When you send a message, the text is transmitted to that service over an encrypted connection to generate a reply. The AI provider does not retain your messages after delivering the response.

We recommend avoiding sensitive personal details such as passwords or financial information in your messages.

🔔 Notifications

Solace may send optional daily reminders to encourage journaling habits. Notifications require your explicit permission and can be disabled at any time through your device settings or the Profile screen within the app.

🔐 Data Security

All network communications between the app and external services use HTTPS encryption. Your locally stored data remains on your device and is not accessible to us remotely.

👶 Children's Privacy

Solace is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will remove the data promptly.

🗑️ Data Deletion

You can remove all locally stored data by uninstalling the app. To request deletion of your Firebase account data, please contact us at the email address below and we will process your request within 30 days.

🔄 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the bottom of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
